Return/Exchange Policy for Baptism Outfits for Boys & Girls, Shoes & Undergarments' Sets
If you do not agree with the following terms, then you should not shop from this web site.
We recommend you always call us or email us before you place your order for a Christening/Baptism Outfit in order to assist you in getting the correct size. You need to know the baby's age, weight and how many inches is the baby from shoulders to ankles. The baby clothes sizes are not the same as the Christening/Baptism outfits sizes. If planning to order Christening shoes, we recommend you know how many inches is the baby's foot.

Once a purchase is made for any individual item or/and sets, either 3 Pc Sets or 6 Pc Sets are Final Sales. We have this policy because these items are Imported and when they run out of stock we do not have the ability to replace them immediately; therefore are not Refundable/Returnable for any reason except an error of Portara. No Refunds are given to anyone for any reason.
If you receive them and you do not like them, you can exchange them for a different Set of the same Pcs or more Pcs. You cannot get a set of 6 Pcs and then request to exchange it for a set of 3 Pcs or 4 Pcs Set.
If you want to Return and Exchange the set you got, then you need to email us with your request and we are going to instruct you and provide you with the RAN (return authorization number). Shipping charges for returning the item back to us is your (the customer's) responsibility along with the new shipping charges that will occur to send you the exchange items.
Shoes
We do Not give Refunds.
If you receive them and you do not like them or do not fit, you can exchange them for a different style or different size. You have to notify us within 3 days for the Return/Exchange (and prior to the Christening Baptism date). No exchanges will be accepted after 7 days of NO Return/Refund would be given after the Christening Baptism date for any pair of shoes and for any reason if you do not notify us before your event date. All Exchanges will be for the original price paid, less any shipping charges.
Note: Items do not have to be shipped backed to us overnight. However, items should be post-marked by the 3rd day of the review period. The new shipping charges and insurance are the responsibility of the customer. A 25% restocking fee will be assessed to all exchanges that are not postmarked by the 3rd day of the review period. If you exceed the 3-day review period, you will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. No exchanges will be accepted after 7 days. All Exchanges will be for the original price paid, less any shipping charges and Insurance.
Any Shoes returned back to us after the 7-day period would occur in 60% restocking fee.
Outfits, Gowns & Dresses
All our outfits are made to order after we receive an order; therefore we do not offer Refunds.
We guarantee that the Outfits, Gowns or Dresses you order are ordered specifically for you directly from the manufacturer, that they are free of manufacturer defects, and that they are in perfect condition at the time we ship them to you. We strive to offer the finest children's garments. Each garment is hand-crafted to exacting standards and must pass through a series of inspections before it reaches you, the customer. Please check the garment carefully before removing any tags or labels. (Items with tags removed cannot be returned).
We take every precaution in checking your merchandise to ensure that it is in perfect condition before we ship it. We also insure that it is packed according to accepted UPS rules, regulations and any other shipping service terms.
Every Outfit is made after we receive an order. Any size needs about 4 days to hand-crafted and arrive in our store and then shipped out at the same day of their arrival. You will receive and email from us then with the tracking number and the date of the arrival. We do offer a rush service for an additional $40.00 per outfit. Overnight UPS shipping is additional.
Order Cancellations
Orders can only be canceled for a full refund within 24 hours of the time placing the order. If you want/need to cancel your order, please call us within 24 hours or email us to cancel your order. No refunds will be applied once the 24 hours have passed.
No Refunds - Exchanges/Store Credit Only
Once a purchase is made you may exchange the item(s) for another size, another style, or a store credit. This credit does not expire.
We have adopted the policy of No Refunds but just Exchanges or Store credit because some customers buy outfits from different companies- domestic or international companies- and then return the ones they do not like/want after a long period of time and they insist in getting a refund. The gown(s) you ordered are specifically ordered for you direct from the manufacturer. We carry a large collection of outfits and we strive to keep the lowest prices possible; thus we cannot afford to stock in inventory.
Or if you do not like the outfit you received for some reason, then you can exchange it for another style without paying any restocking fee if you return the item back to us within the 3-Day time specified below.
3-Day Review Period
A 3-day review period is provided to all of our customers with every purchase of an outfit. The review period starts on the day your item(s) are delivered and allows time to inspect and try on all garments. All returns and exchanges must be post-marked by the 3rd day of the review period. A 25% restocking fee will be assessed to all exchanges that are not postmarked by the 3rd day of the review period. No exchanges or credits will be accepted after 7 days.

Restocking Fee
A restocking fee of 25% will be assessed to all exchanges that are not postmarked by the 3rd day of the review period. The review period starts on the day your item(s) are delivered and allows time to inspect and try on all garments. If you exceed the 3-day review period, you will be subject to a 20% restocking fee less any shipping charges and Insurance. No exchanges or credits will be accepted after 7 days. Under no circumstances will returns or exchanges be given after this 3 day period. All Exchanges will be for the original price paid, less any shipping charges.
Shipping charges or rush charges will not be refunded. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. We recommend that merchandise be returned via UPS, Fed Ex or USPS with proof of delivery and insurance for the full value of the item(s). We must receive all returned merchandise within 10 days from the day your item(s) are delivered to you, or the merchandise will not be accepted and no exchange will be issued.
Wrong Size

If you purchased the wrong size and need to exchange it for another size, the return shipping expense to our warehouse will be your responsibility. Once we receive your items we will ship you the correct size you want to replace the original one you got. All exchanges must be received by us within 10 days from the day your item(s) are delivered to you. The new shipping charges and insurance are the responsibility of the customer. A 25% restocking fee will be assessed to all exchanges that are not postmarked by the 3rd day of the review period.
If Portara.com has made an error and shipped the wrong size, wrong bonnet-hat other than what your order states, please notify us immediately. We will ship the correct size and provide you with a return shipping label at no charge.
Damaged, Defective or Shipping Errors
Our dresses are hand-made and may contain minor variances in color, and imperfections in the fabric or trims because of the Raw silk material that has natural fibers in it. Portara.com does not recognize these variances in determining what constitutes a defective item. Slight imperfections in the natural fibers and/ or processing may occur and we do not feel they are a reflection on the quality of the garment.
We will exchange immediately any of our products that are damaged in shipping, shown to have factory defects, or any item that has been shipped incorrectly. Exchanges will not be given on items that have been used or damaged due to customer misuse or neglect.
In the event of receiving damaged, defective, or an incorrect item, you must notify us immediately. We will replace the item you received with the item originally ordered along with a return shipping label at no charge.
If the incorrect, damaged, or defective item is not received at our warehouse within 10 days from the day your item(s) are delivered to you, you will be charged for the items.
An RMA Number Needed (Return Merchandise Authorization)
The request for an exchange does require you to email us for a RMA number (Return Merchandise Authorization number). Simply complete our Exchange Form below and your request will be handled in a timely manner.
ALL Returns require a Return Authorization Number (RMA #) and unless a mistake has been made on our part, the return is subject to a 25% restocking fee if not postmarked by the 3rd day of the review period and minus the original freight charges. Return freight is the responsibility of the consumer along with the new shipping charges occurring for the replacement of the item. If a return is required due to an error on our part, a restocking fee is still charged if the package is not postmarked by the 3rd day of receiving the goods. Do not return any items until you receive an RMA number. Please E-mail us or call us right away if you need to return an item (absolutely no returns accepted after 10 days). We reserve the right not to accept any returns without an RMA number. Any item returned without an RMA number, may be refused or if accepted be subject to a 25% restocking fee to cover the additional time and effort to process the return. Additionally Portara.com reserves the right to charge a 25% restocking fee if we have not been notified of the return within the required 3 days from receipt of order.
All Sales and Closeout items are final sales. Please make your selection carefully as the styles offered in this category are only available in the sizes listed and are non-returnable except in the case of fabric or workmanship flaws.
Exchanges will be made (no restocking fee - if we are notified promptly) only for size differences when necessary within the same style. E-mail us with any size exchange request within 3 days of the day your item(s) are delivered. A Portara Gallery Authorization (RMA) number is required for all exchanges. Shipping charges will be refunded only for errors made by Portara. You are responsible for shipping charges for the replacement items.
Your RMA number MUST BE CLEARLY posted on the outside of the box and return the merchandise within 3 days upon receive of the items. All exchanges must be received by us within 10 days of the delivery of the items to you. The new shipping charges and insurance are the responsibility of the customer. In order to receive the most credit possible when returning items, please include all the items in a set, i.e., hangers, slips, booties, hat, etc. which go with the returned outfit. If garment returned to us shows any signs of being worn, no credit will be issued.
Return Requirements
All returns must meet the following requirements:
- The item(s) include all original parts, plastic covering, tags, and hanger.
- The item(s) have not been altered, worn, stained, or damaged.
- The item(s) are free of animal hair, smoke, perfume or other damaging odors and stains.
- The item(s) are being exchanged are free of wrinkles and packed and wrapped carefully as arrived to you.
If your returned items do not meet our above requirements, we will return the item back to you at your expense. A list of the unfulfilled requirements will be documented in a brief written explanation from our management.
